Greg's adventures in Brazil!!

Hello everyone,
I am sure some of you have been seeing our Facebook posts and pictures of Greg's trip to Brazil.
It has been wonderful to have him here and I have decided that I am not sending him back!Brazil suits Greg perfectly and sometimes it feels as if he has been here many times!
Our first week in Santos was really nice. I got to show him most of the sites, we spent some time chilling on the beach, he got to meet my sister and brother-in-law and tried Feijoada with caipirinhas.
I am posting pictures of what I call the Brazilian version of Greg - black shorts and t-shirt, black flip-flops, very sexy! Who thought I could not get him to look like that, huh? You can even see him doing the samba on the beach with his flip-flops on!
We also got to go to my home town, Birigui, where Greg met my parents - dad tried to get him drunk with 4 lemon caipirinhas!
And now we are in Londrina, the city where I have lived for the past 30 years. I have been showing him around, he has met my son Nicholas and some of my best friends. The weather has been cold at nights but during the day it is always beautiful and warm.
Next week we are going to travel south - we are meeting my daughter Jennifer and I am going to show Greg some really neat sites in the area.
I hope you are all doing well and I can't wait to get back in August!
I miss Indiana and am really excited to start my new life with the love of my life.
Take care and have a great summer!

Tim's Grad

Hello, everyone!

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we're getting invitations out really, really late, but you are all invited to Tim graduation and following party on Sunday, June 5. It's in the same place all of our (mine, Nat's and Ben's) grad parties have been, at the beach house in Culver, just off the main drag. A good time to go there is probably around 1 to 2 p.m. or so, but someone (me, most likely) will be there all morning.

We would love for you all to make it to wish Tim a congratulations for four hard years at Culver and a best of luck in surviving the next few college years (number unknown). By the way, he has settled on attending Rochester in New York.

Laura Does Some Lobbying

Or, as Grandpa said to her, "I heard you did some picketing the other day."

You can find the full article here (but beware, some of the comments are downright nasty!), but here's a snippet:

Kruyer shared some of her reasons for her personal show of support saying, “One of the main reasons I decided to become a teacher was because of the Plymouth teachers who influenced me so greatly as a student. At the time, it never crossed my mind that one day I would have to defend public education and those people who have dedicated themselves to this profession.
She added, “ It scares me to think that many of the programs that PCSC offers may have to be cut or eliminated altogether if the funding for public education continues to erode. I can’t image a school system where teachers have no true voice in how the schools are operated. I don’t want to image a school system without art classes, foreign language classes, industrial tech classes, food and consumer sciences, speech, and physical education.”

Shameless Promotions

Man, will Bob be glad when my PTA days are over. This week was our big annual celebration. I served as the MC for the last time (4 years). We had great press coverage - it doesn't hurt to have your US Congressman, State Senator and State Representative there!

Aidan's First Communion

Aidan successfully made his First Communion on Feb. 20. We kept everything low key and he about as perfect as he could be. Since then is another story...
In other family news - McKenna got accepted into Notre Dame grad school, Connell has moved out and is living with a friend in a duplex in Lakewood, OH, and Cahoon Nursery is officially ours. I pretty much won't see Brian until late June.

Leigh's baptism

I know, it's a sorry demonstration of Photoshopping. Nevertheless, Leigh will be baptized at 10 a.m. March 20 at Trinity Lutheran Church (and school).

Alexandra is Leigh's Godmother.

We'd love you to attend the regular Sunday service and a light, informal lunch gathering at our home in Goshen following the service. I'm assuming everyone is able to GoogleMap or Mapquest the addresses below, but let me know if you need directions. If you think you might come, please gimme a ring or send me a text or an e-mail so I know how much food to have! Hope to see you soon!
