Family Field Trip
Janis, Bethany, and I met up on Saturday to take the kids to Merrillville to tour the Albanese Candy Factory. Although "tour" may be too optimistic a term for what it was--looking through some windows at the people making gummi worms on the factory floor--the kids had tons of fun filling up giant pixie sticks and running around like, well, kids in a candy store (you had to see that one coming). We met at Bethany's house, and Cole was kind enough to help Liam retrieve a giant icicle, which impressed Liam to no end. Anyway, it was a fun day, and nice to have some friendly people to go do something fun with on a cold weekend day. So if you're interested in joining us on our next field trip, or have someplace interesting that you'd like to suggest, just let me know. I'm always on the lookout for fun places to take the kids!

Taylor's Baptism
Hey all, in case you didn't hear at New Year's, Taylor will be baptized on Sunday, January 11, at 10:00 at Elkhart's Trinity Lutheran Church. Amelia says: "Everyone is welcome to come (but no gifts, please) and we will have a reception for Taylor at another time when our house is ready for company. If anyone is interested, we can go out for brunch somewhere afterward." If you're interested in the brunch option, get in touch with Amelia. If you need directions, you can ask Amelia, or e-mail me and I'll send them to you.
